Υπάρχει αυξανόμενη ανησυχία ότι ο μαζικός τουρισμός επηρεάζει αρνητικά τον μοναδικό χαρακτήρα και το περιβάλλον του νησιού μας, τα οποία είναι ζωτικής σημασίας για τη συνέχιση της προσέλκυσης επισκεπτών και τη διατήρηση της ποιότητας ζωής των κατοίκων.
Εσείς ως Δήμαρχος, πώς σκοπεύετε να αντιμετωπίσετε την ισορροπία μεταξύ των οφελών του τουρισμού και της διατήρησης του χαρακτήρα και του περιβάλλοντος του νησιού για τους μελλοντικούς επισκέπτες και τους κατοίκους;
Η Πάρος, με τη μακραίωνη ιστορία, την υπέροχη φύση, και την πλούσια παράδοση, αποτελεί ένα μοναδικό οικοσύστημα στη μέση του Αιγαίου.
Στο πλαίσιο αυτό, δεν θέλουμε με τίποτα να δούμε τα παραπάνω να θυσιάζονται στο βωμό μιας ανεξέλεγκτης τουριστικής ανάπτυξης. Το μεγάλο διακύβευμα για εμάς, είναι το μοντέλο ανάπτυξης του νησιού μας να συμβαδίζει με την ανάδειξη και προστασία του περιβάλλοντος και να αναδεικνύει και να σέβεται τις αξίες, τον πολιτισμό μας και την ποιότητα ζωής των κατοίκων, και να υπακούει σε κανόνες.
Προτεραιότητά μας, είναι ένα σύνολο έργων που υποστηρίζει το συγκεκριμένο μοντέλο ανάπτυξης. Πολλά από αυτά ήδη υλοποιήθηκαν, ενώ άλλα βρίσκονται σε εξέλιξη.
Πιο συγκεκριμένα, είμαστε το μοναδικό νησί που διαθέτει Γενικό Πολεοδομικό Σχέδιο που μας προστατεύει. Σήμερα, στην Πάρο, υπάρχουν κανόνες για τα νέα επενδυτικά σχέδια και προστατευόμενες περιοχές.
Την ίδια στιγμή, ολοκληρώσαμε και λειτουργήσαμε δύο νέα έργα αφαλάτωσης, ανακατασκευάσαμε τα δίκτυα ύδρευσης, εγκαταστήσαμε σύστημα τηλεχειρισμού και ελέγχου διαρροών, αναβαθμίσαμε τις εγκαταστάσεις επεξεργασίας λυμάτων και τους βιολογικούς καθαρισμούς, ενώ τον Οκτώβριο του 2022 ξεκίνησαν δύο σημαντικά έργα, η κατασκευή δικτύου συλλογής και μεταφοράς λυμάτων Λευκών – Κώστου και η επέκταση – εκσυγχρονισμός του Βιολογικού Καθαρισμού Μάρπησσας.
Παράλληλα, στον τομέα της καθαριότητας, παρά τους εκατοντάδες χιλιάδες πρόσθετους επισκέπτες, καταφέραμε να λειτουργούμε σε πολύ ικανοποιητικά επίπεδα. Εχουμε εξασφαλίσει επαρκή εξοπλισμό σε απορριμματοφόρα οχήματα και μηχανήματα έργου, ενώ αναμένεται και η πρόσληψη πρόσθετου προσωπικού, μέσω ΑΣΕΠ.
Πολύ σημαντική είνα εξάλλου και η εξασφάλιση χρηματοδότησης 1.990.000 ευρώ για τη δημιουργία Πράσινων Σημείων σε Παροικία και Νάουσα, με τον Δήμο Πάρου να είναι πρώτος και μοναδικός στην Περιφέρειά μας που εντάσσεται στο σχετικό Πρόγραμμα. Τέλος, πιέζουμε συνεχώς προς την κατεύθυνση της αναγκαιότητας τήρησης των χρονοδιαγραμμάτων για το δεύτερο κύτταρο στον ΧΥΤΑ, ο οποίος λειτουργεί υπό την ευθύνη της Περιφέρειας Νοτίου Αιγαίου.

Οι τουριστικοί προορισμοί συχνά ανθούν διαφοροποιώντας τις προσφορές τους. Η Πάρος καμαρώνει για την πλούσια κληρονομιά της, περιλαμβάνοντας ιστορικούς τόπους, περιπατητικά μονοπάτια, τοπικά κρασιά και αγροτικά προϊόντα, πανηγύρια, τα οποία έχουν τη δυνατότητα να προσελκύσουν υπεύθυνους και πολιτισμικά ενδιαφερόμενους επισκέπτες.
Εσείς ως Δήμαρχος, ποιες συγκεκριμένες ενέργειες προτίθεστε να λάβετε για να ενισχύσουμε και να προωθήσουμε αυτές τις προσφορές κληρονομιάς για να προσελκύσουμε έναν πιο συνειδητοποιημένο τύπο τουρίστα, διασφαλίζοντας την βιώσιμη ανάπτυξη της Πάρου;
Αναγνωρίζοντας τη μοναδικότητα της Πάρου, επικεντρωνόμαστε σε καινοτόμες προτάσεις εναλλακτικού τουρισμού, που έχουν ως στόχο την ενίσχυση της τουριστικής ανάπτυξης, με σεβασμό στην ταυτότητα του νησιού και στο περιβάλλον.
Ειδικότερα, δεσμευόμαστε για τη στήριξη της αγροτικής μας παραγωγής και τη σύνδεση της με τον τουριστικό τομέα, με στόχο την πώληση μέρους των προϊόντων μας στους επισκέπτες μας. Ως αποτέλεσμα, θα δημιουργηθούν νέες θέσεις εργασίας, ενώ θα δοθούν κίνητρα για να μην χτίζεται περιατέρω η γη μας.
Πιο συγκεκριμένα, για την ενίσχυση της τοπικής μας αγοράς, αναπτύσσουμε ειδικό πρόγραμμα προβολής των τοπικών μας προϊόντων στους επισκέπτες, καθιερώνουμε ειδικό σήμα χρήσης τοπικών προϊόντων σε ξενοδοχεία και χώρους εστίασης, και προωθούμε τη δημιυργία ετήσιου φεστιβάλ τοπικών προϊόντων. Ταυτόχρονα, βοηθάμε την τοπική μας παραγωγή με έργα για την άδρευση, προγράμματα εκπαίδευσης για νέους αγρότες, αξιοποίηση ευρωπαϊκών προγραμμάτων.
Την ίδια στιγμή, η επιμήκυνση της τουριστικής μας περιόδου αποτελεί κλειδί για ένα βιώσιμο μοντέλο τουρισμού. Έτσι, το επόμενο διάστημα σχεδιάζουμε τα προγράμματα τουριστικής προβολής προς αυτήν την κατεύθυνση, αναδεικνύοντας και άλλες πλευρές του τουριστικού μας προιόντος, όπως ο περιπατιτικός τουρισμός, ο οινοτουρισμός, ο ήπιος συνεδριακός τουρισμός, ο θαλάσσιος τουρισμός, τα προγράμματα ευζωίας καθώς και πολλά άλλα.

Έχει ανάγκη να σωθεί η Πάρος;
Αν ναι, από τι πρέπει να σωθεί;
Αρχικά, οφείλουμε να αναγνωρίσουμε ότι η Πάρος σήμερα είναι πιο ευημερούσα και με μεγαλύτερες προοπτικές απ’ ότι στο παρελθόν. Κι αυτό, γιατί τα προηγούμενα χρόνια κάναμε όλοι μαζί έναν μεγάλο αγώνα και πετύχαμε να βάλουμε την Πάρο στον παγκόσμιο τουριστικό χάρτη. Με συστηματική προσπάθεια, σχέδιο και δουλειά.
Από εκεί και πέρα, τώρα είναι η ώρα να οφείλουμε να δώσουμε απαντήσεις σε ένα σημαντικό και υπαρξιακό ερώτημα για το μέλλον του νησιού μας:
«Ποιο είναι το μοντέλο ανάπτυξης που θέλουμε για τα επόμενα χρόνια».
Πρέπει να έχουμε υπόψιν μας ότι η Μεσόγειος είναι γεμάτη από παραδείγματα απότομης τουριστικής ανάπτυξης που τελικά αποδείχθηκε ότι είχε «κοντά» ποδάρια και όχι στέρεες βάσεις. Γι’ αυτό, ο τουρισμός του μέλλοντος οφείλει να είναι βιώσιμος, αυτάρκης και αειφόρος. Να σέβεται το περιβάλλον του τόπου από την μία πλευρά και τα κοινωνικά και πολιτιστικά χαρακτηριστικά της κάθε περιοχής από την άλλη.
Και αυτό είναι ευθύνη όλων μας για να το πετύχουμε. Πρώτα απ’ όλα της διοίκησης του Δήμου αλλά κυρίως της ελληνικής Πολιτείας, η οποία κρατάει στα χέρια της τα περισσότερα από τα κλειδιά για την ανάπτυξη του νησιού μας.
Φυσικά, τίποτα από τα παραπάνω δεν θα λειτουργήσει, αν δεν έχουμε δίπλα μας τους δημότες. Για τον λόγο αυτό, όλοι μαζί, πρέπει να χτίσουμε μια αλυσίδα εμπιστοσύνης και υπευθυνότητας πάνω στα οποία θα διαμορφώσουμε συλλογικά το μέλλον μας.
Στο πλαίσιο αυτό, το έργο μας, αποτελεί την καλύτερη απόδειξη ότι με τους συνεργάτες μου μπορούμε να ανταποκριθούμε με επιτυχία στις προκλήσεις της επόμενης ημέρας για την Πάρο.
Στις ερχόμενες δημοτικές εκλογές θα κριθεί αν το νησί μας θα συνεχίσει και θα επιταχύνει την πορεία βιώσιμης ανάπτυξης ή αν θα μπει σε δρόμους οπισθοδρόμησης. Αν το τιμόνι του δήμου θα μείνει στα χέρια ανθρώπων που έχουν γνώση και εμπειρία, ώστε να πάνε το καράβι σε ήσυχα νερά ή αν η Πάρος θα μπει σε περιπέτειες ετερόκλητων σχημάτων, που οδηγούν σε διοικητικό χάος και τρικυμίες.

There is growing concern that mass tourism is adversely affecting the unique character and environment of our island, which are vital to continue to attract visitors and maintain the quality of life of our residents.
How do you, as Mayor, intend to address the balance between the benefits of tourism and preserving the character and environment of the island for future visitors and residents?
Paros, with its long history, wonderful nature and rich tradition, is a unique ecosystem in the middle of the Aegean Sea.
In this context, we do not want to see these things sacrificed on the altar of uncontrolled tourism development. The significant stake for us is that the development model of our island should go hand in hand with promoting and protecting the environment. It should highlight and respect our values, our culture and the quality of life of our inhabitants and obey rules.
Our priority is a set of projects that supports this development model. Many of these have already been implemented, while others are underway.
More specifically, we are the only island with a General Urban Plan protecting us. Today, Paros has rules for new investment projects and protected areas.
At the same time, we completed and operated two new desalination projects, reconstructed the water supply networks, installed a remote control and leakage control system, and upgraded the wastewater treatment plants and biological treatment plants, while in October 2022, two important projects were started, the construction of the wastewater collection and transport network of Lefkes-Kostos and the expansion-modernization of the biological treatment plant of Marpissa.
At the same time, in the cleaning sector, despite hundreds of thousands of additional visitors, we managed to operate at very satisfactory levels. We have secured sufficient equipment in refuse collection vehicles and project machinery, and we expect to recruit additional staff through the "Supreme Personnel Selection Board" (ASEP).
Very important is also the securing of funding of 1.990.000 euros for the creation of Green Points in Parikia and Naoussa, with the Municipality of Paros being the first and only one in our Region to join the relevant programme. Finally, we are constantly pushing towards the necessity of meeting the timetables for the second cell in the landfill, which operates under the responsibility of the South Aegean Region.

Tourist destinations often flourish by diversifying their offerings. Paros prides itself on its rich heritage, including historic sites, walking trails, local wines and agricultural products, festivals, which have the potential to attract responsible and culturally interested visitors.
As Mayor, what specific actions do you intend to take to enhance and promote these heritage offerings to attract a more conscious type of tourist, ensuring the sustainable development of Paros?
Recognising the uniqueness of Paros, we focus on innovative alternative tourism proposals that aim to enhance tourism development while respecting the island's identity and the environment.
In particular, we are committed to supporting our agricultural production and linking it to the tourism sector, aiming to sell our products to our visitors. As a result, new jobs will be created, and incentives will be provided to stop our land being built on.
More specifically, to strengthen our local market, we are developing a special programme to promote our local products to visitors, establishing a special label for the use of local products in hotels and restaurants, and promoting the creation of an annual festival of local products. At the same time, we are helping our local production with projects for water supply, training programmes for young farmers, and utilising European programmes.
At the same time, extending our tourist season is key to a sustainable tourism model. Thus, in the coming period, we are planning tourism promotion programmes in this direction, highlighting other aspects of our tourism product, such as leisure tourism, wine tourism, soft conference tourism, marine tourism, welfare programmes and many others.

Does Paros need to be saved?
If so, what does it need to be saved from?
First, we must acknowledge that Paros today is more prosperous and has greater prospects than in the past. This is because, in the past years, we all struggled together and succeeded in putting Paros on the world tourist map with systematic effort, planning and work.
From there, now is the time to give answers to an important and existential question for the future of our island:
"What is the development model we want for the coming years?".
We must bear in mind that the Mediterranean is full of examples of abrupt tourism development that turned out to have short legs rather than solid foundations. That is why the tourism of the future must be sustainable and self-sufficient. It must respect the local environment on the one hand and the social and cultural characteristics of each region on the other.
And it is the responsibility of all of us to achieve this. First and foremost, of the Municipality’s administration, but above all, of the Greek State, which holds most of the keys to the development of our island.
Of course, the above will only work if we have the citizens by our side. For this reason, we must all together build a chain of trust and responsibility on which to shape our future collectively.
In this context, our work is the best proof that together with my partners, we can successfully meet the challenges of the next day for Paros.
The forthcoming municipal elections will determine whether our island will continue and accelerate on the path of sustainable development or will go backwards. Whether the helm of the Municipality will remain in the hands of people with the knowledge and experience to take the ship to calm waters or Paros will enter into the adventures of disparate formations, leading to administrative chaos and turbulence.

On craint de plus en plus que le tourisme de masse ne nuise au caractère unique et à l'environnement de notre île, qui sont essentiels pour continuer à attirer les visiteurs et maintenir la qualité de vie de nos résidents.
En tant que maire, comment comptez-vous trouver un équilibre entre les avantages du tourisme et la préservation du caractère et de l'environnement de l'île pour les futurs visiteurs et résidents ?
Paros, avec sa longue histoire, sa nature merveilleuse et sa riche tradition, est un écosystème unique au milieu de la mer Égée.
Dans ce contexte, nous ne voulons pas que ces éléments soient sacrifiés sur l'autel d'un développement touristique incontrôlé. L'enjeu important pour nous est que le modèle de développement de notre île aille de pair avec la promotion et la protection de l'environnement. Il doit mettre en valeur et respecter nos valeurs, notre culture et la qualité de vie de nos habitants, et obéir à des règles.
Notre priorité est un ensemble de projets qui soutiennent ce modèle de développement. Nombre d'entre eux ont déjà été mis en œuvre, tandis que d'autres sont en cours.
Plus précisément, nous sommes la seule île à être protégée par un Plan Local d'Urbanisme. Aujourd'hui, Paros dispose de règles pour les nouveaux projets d'investissement et les zones protégées.
Dans le même temps, nous avons achevé et exploité deux nouveaux projets de dessalement, reconstruit les réseaux d'approvisionnement en eau, installé un système de contrôle à distance et de contrôle des fuites, et modernisé les stations d'épuration des eaux usées et les stations de traitement biologique, tandis qu'en octobre 2022, deux projets importants ont été lancés, la construction du réseau de collecte et de transport des eaux usées de Lefkes-Kostos et l'expansion-modernisation de la station d'épuration biologique de Marpissa.

Les destinations touristiques prospèrent souvent en diversifiant leurs offres. En tant que maire, quelles actions spécifiques avez-vous l'intention de prendre pour améliorer et promouvoir ces offres patrimoniales afin d'attirer un type de touriste plus conscient, assurant ainsi le développement durable de Paros ?
Reconnaissant le caractère unique de Paros, nous nous concentrons sur des propositions touristiques alternatives innovantes qui visent à renforcer le développement du tourisme tout en respectant l'identité de l'île et l'environnement.
En particulier, nous nous engageons à soutenir notre production agricole et à la relier au secteur du tourisme, dans le but de vendre nos produits à nos visiteurs. De nouveaux emplois seront ainsi créés et des mesures d'incitation seront prises pour empêcher la construction de nos terres.
Plus spécifiquement, pour renforcer notre marché local, nous développons un programme spécial de promotion de nos produits locaux auprès des visiteurs, nous établissons un label spécial pour l'utilisation de produits locaux dans les hôtels et les restaurants et nous encourageons la création d'un festival annuel de produits locaux. Parallèlement, nous aidons notre production locale avec des projets d'approvisionnement en eau, des programmes de formation pour les jeunes agriculteurs et l'utilisation de programmes européens.
Par ailleurs, l'allongement de la saison touristique est la clé d'un modèle de tourisme durable. Ainsi, au cours de la période à venir, nous prévoyons des programmes de promotion du tourisme dans cette direction, en mettant l'accent sur d'autres aspects de notre produit touristique, tels que le tourisme de loisirs, le tourisme viticole, le tourisme de conférences, le tourisme maritime, les programmes de bien-être et bien d'autres encore.

Paros doit-elle être sauvée ?
Si oui, de quoi doit-elle être sauvée ?
Tout d'abord, nous devons reconnaître que Paros est aujourd'hui plus prospère et a de meilleures perspectives que par le passé. Cela est dû au fait que, ces dernières années, nous avons tous lutté ensemble et réussi à placer Paros sur la carte touristique mondiale grâce à des efforts, une planification et un travail systématiques.
À partir de là, le moment est venu de répondre à une question importante et existentielle pour l'avenir de notre île :
"Quel est le modèle de développement que nous voulons pour les années à venir ?
Nous devons garder à l'esprit que la Méditerranée est pleine d'exemples de développement touristique abrupt qui s'est avéré avoir des jambes courtes plutôt que des fondations solides. C'est pourquoi le tourisme de demain doit être durable et autonome. Il doit respecter l'environnement local, d'une part, et les caractéristiques sociales et culturelles de chaque région, d'autre part.
Et il est de notre responsabilité à tous d'y parvenir. D'abord et avant tout, de l'administration de la municipalité, mais surtout de l'État grec, qui détient la plupart des clés du développement de notre île.
Bien sûr, tout cela ne fonctionnera que si nous avons les citoyens à nos côtés. C'est pourquoi nous devons tous ensemble construire une chaîne de confiance et de responsabilité sur laquelle nous pourrons façonner notre avenir collectivement.
Dans ce contexte, notre travail est la meilleure preuve qu'avec mes partenaires, nous pouvons relever avec succès les défis du lendemain pour Paros.
Les prochaines élections municipales détermineront si notre île continuera et accélérera sur la voie du développement durable ou si elle reviendra en arrière. Si la barre de la municipalité restera entre les mains de personnes ayant les connaissances et l'expérience nécessaires pour mener le navire en eaux calmes ou si Paros entrera dans l'aventure de formations disparates, menant au chaos administratif et à la turbulence.

Immer mehr Menschen zeigen sich besorgt, dass der Massentourismus den besonderen Charme und die Natur unserer Insel gefährdet. Beide sind essentiell, um weiterhin Besucher anzuziehen und die Lebensqualität der Einheimischen zu sichern.
Als Bürgermeister, wie beabsichtigen Sie das Verhältnis zwischen den Vorteilen des Tourismus und dem Schutz des Inselcharakters sowie der Umwelt für zukünftige Gäste und Einwohner zu wahren?
Paros mit seiner langen Geschichte, seiner wunderbaren Natur und seiner reichen Tradition ist ein einzigartiges Ökosystem inmitten der Ägäis.
In diesem Zusammenhang wollen wir nicht, dass diese Dinge auf dem Altar einer unkontrollierten Tourismusentwicklung geopfert werden. Für uns ist es wichtig, dass das Entwicklungsmodell unserer Insel mit der Förderung und dem Schutz der Umwelt Hand in Hand geht. Es sollte unsere Werte, unsere Kultur und die Lebensqualität unserer Einwohner hervorheben und respektieren und sich an die Regeln halten.
Unsere Priorität ist eine Reihe von Projekten, die dieses Entwicklungsmodell unterstützen. Viele dieser Projekte wurden bereits umgesetzt, andere sind noch in Arbeit.
Genauer gesagt sind wir die einzige Insel mit einem allgemeinen Stadtplan, der uns schützt. Heute gibt es auf Paros Vorschriften für neue Investitionsprojekte und Schutzgebiete.
Gleichzeitig haben wir zwei neue Entsalzungsprojekte fertiggestellt und in Betrieb genommen, die Wasserversorgungsnetze rekonstruiert, ein Fernsteuerungs- und Leckagekontrollsystem installiert und die Kläranlagen und biologischen Kläranlagen modernisiert, während im Oktober 2022 zwei wichtige Projekte in Angriff genommen wurden: der Bau des Abwassersammel- und -transportnetzes von Lefkes-Kostos und die Erweiterung/Modernisierung der biologischen Kläranlage von Marpissa.
Gleichzeitig ist es uns im Bereich der Straßenreinigung gelungen, trotz Hunderttausender zusätzlicher Besucher auf einem sehr zufriedenstellenden Niveau zu arbeiten. Wir haben uns eine ausreichende Ausstattung an Müllfahrzeugen und Projektmaschinen gesichert und werden voraussichtlich zusätzliches Personal über den "Obersten Personalausschuss" (ASEP) einstellen.
Sehr wichtig ist auch die Sicherung der Finanzierung von 1.990.000 Euro für die Einrichtung von Grünen Punkten in Parikia und Naoussa, wobei die Gemeinde Paros die erste und einzige in unserer Region ist, die sich an dem entsprechenden Programm beteiligt. Schließlich bemühen wir uns ständig um die Einhaltung der Zeitpläne für die zweite Zelle der Mülldeponie, für die die Region Südliche Ägäis zuständig ist.

Touristische Ziele können oft durch eine Erweiterung ihres Angebots prosperieren. Paros zeichnet sich durch ein vielfältiges Erbe aus, einschließlich historischer Orte, Wanderpfade, lokaler Weine und landwirtschaftlicher Erzeugnisse, Feste und vieles mehr, das dazu beiträgt, kulturbegeisterte und verantwortungsvolle Besucher anzulocken.
Welche konkreten Schritte planen Sie als Bürgermeister um diese kulturellen und natürlichen Schätze zu betonen und auszubauen, um ein bewussteres Touristenpublikum zu erreichen und eine nachhaltige Zukunft für Paros sicherzustellen?
In Anerkennung der Einzigartigkeit von Paros konzentrieren wir uns auf innovative alternative Tourismusvorschläge, die darauf abzielen, die touristische Entwicklung zu fördern und gleichzeitig die Identität der Insel und die Umwelt zu respektieren.
Insbesondere setzen wir uns dafür ein, unsere landwirtschaftliche Produktion zu unterstützen und sie mit dem Tourismussektor zu verknüpfen, um unsere Produkte an unsere Besucher zu verkaufen. Auf diese Weise werden neue Arbeitsplätze geschaffen und Anreize geschaffen, um die Bebauung unserer Flächen zu verhindern.
Um unseren lokalen Markt zu stärken, entwickeln wir ein spezielles Programm, um unsere lokalen Produkte bei den Besuchern bekannt zu machen, führen ein spezielles Label für die Verwendung lokaler Produkte in Hotels und Restaurants ein und fördern die Veranstaltung eines jährlichen Festivals für lokale Produkte. Gleichzeitig unterstützen wir unsere lokale Produktion mit Projekten zur Wasserversorgung, mit Ausbildungsprogrammen für junge Landwirte und mit der Nutzung europäischer Programme.
Gleichzeitig ist die Verlängerung unserer Tourismussaison der Schlüssel zu einem nachhaltigen Tourismusmodell. Daher planen wir für die kommende Zeit Tourismusförderungsprogramme in dieser Richtung, die andere Aspekte unseres Tourismusprodukts hervorheben, wie Freizeittourismus, Weintourismus, sanften Konferenztourismus, Meerestourismus, Sozialprogramme und viele andere.

Braucht Paros Rettung?
Wenn ja, vor was muss es gerettet werden?
Zunächst einmal müssen wir anerkennen, dass Paros heute wohlhabender ist und bessere Aussichten hat als in der Vergangenheit. Das liegt daran, dass wir in den letzten Jahren alle gemeinsam gekämpft haben und es geschafft haben, Paros mit systematischer Anstrengung, Planung und Arbeit auf die touristische Weltkarte zu setzen.
Von dort aus ist es nun an der Zeit, Antworten auf eine wichtige und existenzielle Frage für die Zukunft unserer Insel zu geben:
"Welches Entwicklungsmodell wollen wir für die kommenden Jahre?".
Wir müssen bedenken, dass es im Mittelmeerraum viele Beispiele für eine abrupte Tourismusentwicklung gibt, die sich eher als kurzlebig denn als solide erwiesen hat. Deshalb muss der Tourismus der Zukunft nachhaltig und autark sein. Er muss einerseits die lokale Umwelt respektieren und andererseits die sozialen und kulturellen Besonderheiten jeder Region berücksichtigen.
Und es liegt in unser aller Verantwortung, dies zu erreichen. In erster Linie an die Gemeindeverwaltung, aber vor allem an den griechischen Staat, der den größten Teil der Schlüssel zur Entwicklung unserer Insel besitzt.
Natürlich wird das alles nur funktionieren, wenn wir die Bürger an unserer Seite haben. Aus diesem Grund müssen wir alle gemeinsam eine Kette des Vertrauens und der Verantwortung aufbauen, um unsere Zukunft gemeinsam zu gestalten.
In diesem Zusammenhang ist unsere Arbeit der beste Beweis dafür, dass wir gemeinsam mit meinen Partnern die Herausforderungen der nächsten Zeit für Paros erfolgreich meistern können.
Die bevorstehenden Kommunalwahlen werden darüber entscheiden, ob unsere Insel den Weg der nachhaltigen Entwicklung fortsetzt und beschleunigt oder ob es zu einem Rückschritt kommt. Ob das Ruder der Gemeindeverwaltung in den Händen von Menschen bleibt, die über das Wissen und die Erfahrung verfügen, um das Schiff in ruhige Gewässer zu führen, oder ob Paros sich in das Abenteuer uneinheitlicher Formationen begibt, was zu Verwaltungschaos und Turbulenzen führen wird.
